Meeting of Martin Drive Neighborhood Association

WASHINGTON PARK SENIOR CENTER - 4420 W Vliet Street


The mission of the Martin Drive Neighborhood Association, through its programs and projects, is to embrace and foster a sense of belonging and common purpose, in order to create a neighborhood that is beautiful, diverse, secure, and fun for everyone!

 

Neighbors enjoyed a light dinner. Thank you Birdie’s Café.

 

1. Introduction – Sharon helped introduce neighbors who sat by table by street. Sharon talked about the history of the organization and about being a great neighbor.

 

2. Michael Murphy talked about the state of the city budget, foreclosures, success in bringing banks to the table in helping the problem, the effect of the state budget to Milwaukee from Madison, equal union sacrifice (police/fire vs. other unions) and answered related questions & answers

 

3. Pat Mueller talked about the success of the Bloom & Groom Project, Summer Picnic (July 30), Market (Sundays), Concerts (Wednesdays).

 

4. Steve Falsetti talked about the Martin Drive Community Garden and reminded neighbors to check to make sure they were not picking someone else’s plants.

 

5. Representative Gwen Moore talked about the state of the federal budget, her priorities, and answered questions from neighbors.
